Description
Sansevieria trifasciata is native to West Africa and features fleshy, sessile (without petiole) leaves that are narrow and long, streaked with green and white.
Sansevierias are extraordinary evergreen plants of incredible beauty, due to their long, fleshy, and shiny leaves. The Sansevieria genus (or more commonly known as Sanseveria) includes perennial herbaceous plants widely found in our homes, valued both for their ease of cultivation and their ornamental value.
They belong to the Ruscaceae family and include numerous species with very different appearances, originating from both the Indies and tropical Africa.
The leaves are thick and fleshy, growing from a large rhizome (an underground stem that serves as a storage organ, similar to a root but with leaves and a growing tip), which grows just below the soil surface.
